Kitchen water damage repair and rebuilding in Deer Ridge
After another company completed mitigation and drying, Bezruchuk Inc. rebuilt this Deer Ridge kitchen. The work included replacement cabinetry, quartz counters, a tile backsplash and hardwood repairs extending into the living area.

Rebuilding after the water-damage cleanup
This kitchen water damage repair project began after the initial emergency work. Another company had completed mitigation and drying, and damaged cabinets and affected flooring had been removed. Bezruchuk Inc. took on the reconstruction in this Deer Ridge home in Puyallup.
The homeowners needed a complete kitchen again, with cabinetry and finishes that worked together. The original cabinet line had been discontinued, so matching a few replacement sections was not a practical path for this project. The plan moved forward with a full set of new cabinets.

Defining the replacement work before installation
The reconstruction scope was set out in an estimate and homeowner contract. Cabinet samples and design renderings helped establish the replacement layout and finishes before materials were ordered.
Material preparation took approximately four weeks. This was separate from the active construction period and included getting the cabinet and finish selections ready for the work on site.
For a water-damage rebuild, the distinction between mitigation and reconstruction matters. Drying and removing affected materials come before the replacement finishes. Our role in this project was rebuilding the kitchen and associated finishes after that initial work.
White shaker cabinets and a contrasting island
The replacement cabinetry used plywood construction, shaker doors and soft-close hardware. Glass-front upper sections give the long cabinet runs some variation, while the white finish brightens the perimeter of the room.
A dark island and a custom hood provide contrast. Matching those two elements ties the center of the room to the cooking wall without making every cabinet the same color.
Cabinet installation took roughly three to four days within the larger construction schedule. Once the cabinets were in place, the quartz counters could be templated to the installed layout.
Counter fabrication and a 4 × 4-inch backsplash
The quartz counters were fabricated after templating. Flooring work continued during that period, rather than treating every stage as a separate block of time. Counter installation itself took about one day.
The custom backsplash used 4 × 4-inch tile. It runs along the work surfaces and behind the cooking area, with under-cabinet lighting highlighting the finished tile.
The progress photographs show tile installation with spacers and protective counter covering still in place. The completed close view is shown separately so construction work is not presented as the final finish.
Repairing the floor and extending it into the living room
Hardwood repair and refinishing were part of the reconstruction. The wood flooring was also extended into a living area that had previously been carpeted, helping connect the rebuilt kitchen with the surrounding rooms. Stair work was included in the wider scope.
Active construction took approximately six weeks after the material preparation period. The cabinet, counter and floor stages overlapped, so their individual durations should not be added together to calculate a new total.
Those timings describe this project. The amount of damaged material, drying status, selections and the condition uncovered during removal can produce a different sequence in another home.
