01 / Deck construction and replacement

A deck that fits your house and your plans

Our deck builders in Washington take on new deck projects and replacements. The right scope depends on the existing structure, the connection to the house, changes in height and how you want to use the space.

New deck construction

Create an outdoor space where there is no deck today. Plan its footprint, door connection, stairs and landing around the yard and your daily use.

Deck replacement

Replace existing decking and review the structure beneath it. Sound framing may be reusable where it is suitable for the agreed design and selected materials.

Stairs and railings

Consider the route from the house to the yard, stair placement, landings and railings as part of the deck project rather than afterthoughts.

Sliding-door access

A deck project can include a new sliding door and related work in the agreed scope. Our Graham project shows how indoor and outdoor access can come together.

Upper balconies

Discuss the surface, railing and water concerns together. At Edgewood, balcony waterproofing was coordinated with the main deck and exterior renovation.

Related exterior work

Where needed, discuss siding, painting and other connected work. The Edgewood renovation also included replacement of the old dock with AZEK decking.

02 / Completed Washington projects

Two homes. Two different deck projects.

You do not need a large renovation to contact us. These completed jobs show a compact deck addition and a more extensive deck and exterior renovation.

03 / Materials and existing conditions

Choose the deck first, then the details that suit it

You can contact us before selecting a brand or color. Bring the appearance you like, your maintenance preferences and any concerns about your existing deck.

Our project examples include Trex composite decking and TimberTech AZEK PVC. We’ll discuss the selected product alongside the frame, stairs, railings and the way the new surface meets the house.

A board replacement begins with a framing inspection. Reusing sound sections can be appropriate in some projects, but new decking does not correct an unsuitable supporting structure.

For product planning, see our TimberTech decking guide and Cinch, TimberTech and Trex railing comparison.

04 / Start your deck project

From your first idea to a clear scope

You do not need finished drawings to make an inquiry. A location, photographs and a description of the change are a useful starting point.

  1. Tell us what you need

Share whether this is a new deck, a replacement or a larger exterior renovation. Include your city, current photographs and the features you want to keep or change.

  2. Review the connected work

Discuss the existing framing, door access, stairs, railings and site conditions. Clarify the material choices and permit responsibilities as the scope is developed.

  3. Agree on the project scope

Review the proposed work and what is included before construction. This gives you a clearer basis for choosing the project that fits your home.

What affects the quote? Deck size and height, framing condition, material selection, stair and railing needs, door work, site access and any related balcony or exterior work.

05 / Deck project questions

Before you contact us

Do you take on small deck projects?

Yes. The Graham deck is a compact project with a sliding door, broad steps and a landing. We also handle larger work, such as the Edgewood deck and exterior renovation. The scope and location determine the next step.

Can you replace the boards and keep the existing frame?

Sometimes, if the framing is structurally sound and suitable for the selected decking. It needs to be inspected first. At Edgewood, structurally sound sections were reused where applicable.

Do I need to choose a decking brand before contacting you?

No. Share the appearance and maintenance level you prefer, along with the existing conditions. We can discuss product options as the scope is developed.

Can the deck project include a new sliding door?

Yes, when it is included in the agreed scope. The Graham project combined a deck with a sliding-door opening and the related framing and lighting-circuit work.

Can an upper balcony be included?

Yes. Tell us about the balcony, the area below it and any known water concerns. The Edgewood project included waterproofing work on an upper balcony, coordinated with the main deck and exterior renovation.

How do I start?

Send the location, current photographs and your goals through our project quote form. We will review the information and discuss the appropriate next step.
