Slim shaker kitchen cabinets in an open Kirkland kitchen
ProCraft slim shaker cabinets give this Kirkland kitchen a light perimeter and a warm island. Wall removal, quartz counters and a custom hood completed the renovation by Bezruchuk Inc.

A larger connection to dining and living
Slim shaker kitchen cabinets helped set the direction for this Kirkland remodel, but the first major change was the layout. Interior walls were removed to connect the kitchen with the dining and living areas and make room for a substantial island.
The original kitchen had wood cabinets and a suspended hood that dominated the center of the room. The new cooking area sits against the wall, while the island provides a wide work surface and seating facing into the kitchen.

A light perimeter and a warm island
The project used ProCraft Slim Shaker cabinetry. Narrow door frames give the cabinets a more restrained profile than a broad traditional shaker frame. The light perimeter contrasts with the warm wood-tone cabinetry on the working side of the island.
Full-height cabinet sections provide tall storage around the room. Smaller storage features include pull-outs for spices and trays, along with a built-in microwave drawer in the island.
The island is deliberately different from the perimeter without introducing a second door style. That consistency lets the color and wood tone create the contrast while the narrow frames connect the whole cabinet arrangement.
Regal Oro quartz and a custom hood
Regal Oro quartz was selected for the counters. Its light background carries across the main work surfaces, including the island, and sits beside the patterned backsplash.
Calacatta Belgia from Cosmos was selected for the backsplash. It runs behind the cooking area and along the sink wall. A custom gypsum hood gives the range a simple, broad shape between the cabinet runs.
Gold-toned fixtures, including the pot filler, add warmth near the cooking and sink areas. They connect visually with the island finish while remaining small accents against the light cabinet doors.
A continuous floor beneath the open layout
Luxury vinyl plank flooring gives the opened kitchen and adjoining area a continuous wood-look surface. The flooring is LVP, even though the grain and color resemble wood.
The large island supports both preparation and seating. On its working side, drawers and the microwave are close to the main kitchen run; on the opposite side, the counter extends over the stools.
This project brings together several decisions that need to be planned at the same time: wall openings, island clearance, appliance positions and the reach of the new flooring. The finished photographs show those relationships as well as the cabinet details.
